      Description

Recently it was reported that there were fibers flagged "BLACKSPOT" in the science field where there is no fiber moved behind the dot on purpose (cf. INSTRM-2381). Being asked, I checked the number of the fibers whose status was "BLACKSPOT" from the early May 2024 run (run 16).

It seems that the number of such fibers increased (became non-zero) in the August/September 2024 run (run 18). There are 93 cases in total, and the there seems three reasons (and/or combinations of them):

      1. The fibers are indeed behind the dot. There are many cases where fibers didn't move out of the dot in the next iteration.  -> chyan , do you have any idea about it?
      2. The fibers identification failed. This happens when the fiber is close to another fiber. -> karr , could you please check? (could you see the attached slide?)
      3. The registered dot position looks different (Probably I should check it.) Also, the updated target position looks very close to the dot. The expected shift by updating the coordinate should be small enough but we should check it.-> Kiyoto Yabe which file is used for the dot position just in case?
