Modularize FPGA simulator logging; call from program side

I added pretty nice logging to the fpgaSim, so that we can compare the effect of different command streams and for script logging.

That needs to be called from the program (PFI.py) side in the case that the real FPGA is being commanded.

I think it is easy to pull out into a module and call from either side.
