Clear SAM FIFO after stopping a running ramp.

When stopping a running ramp, the ASIC reset does usually not happen at a read boundary, and the SAM FIFO often fills up and generates a spurious FIFO full warning. Be more careful about clearing the FIFO so as not to clutter the logs.
