Establish debugging and optimization for MCS centroid code

      Description

      In the March run, we identify several memory leaks in centroid code. It is suggested to establish the debugging and optimization process for the MCS centroid code. For example, we should be able to debug the program using GDB and profiling the code with valgrind.
