[SURVEY-4] Input Spectrum sampling and extension

                <project id="10600" key="SURVEY">Survey operation on planning and tracking</project>

I need some precision on the input spectrum format, as I am creating some stars simulations from external sources :

the sampling is finer than PFS one (0.01A)

the wavelength coverage is not total (3400-10000 A)

I tested the ETC on one of those spectra and it worked well, but the output spectrum covers the whole PFS lambda range (up to 12000 A), hence I wanted to understand if the sampling is a big issue, and how is obtained the flux above 10000A
I tried to attach the input spectrum I used, but the server answered with an error
thanks

data in the FLUX extension of pfsObject file is resampled with 0.1 nm sampling because the sampling is different in each spectrograph arm. The sampling of 0.1 nm is not based on any agreement I think. So, the sampling may be a big issue in some specific cases. Do you have any requirement from 1D DRP side?

Above 10000A, the data is extrapolated by using the value at the longest wavelength (10000A in this case).

As for resolution, my point is that we are ingesting spectra at high resolution and I wanted to know if there is a problem. But if there is a resampling it should not be a big deal?
Vincent
P.S. I am still unable to upload a file onto the server, whom should I refer to?
</comment>
