 Description

The current dithered Flats only have Poisson noise and no pixel-to-pixel variations. To finish PIPE2D-79 we need new synthetic dithered Flats which use the photometric Flats as input. Please generate them with a synthetic function with a slope in wavelength instead of a Quartz spectrum.

The question is whether we want to add this ticket to the current sprint, or move PIPE2D-79 to the next sprint?

All the 17 files in /tigress/HSC/PFS/PU/raw/2017-04-20/ have had the real r1 superflat from JHU/root/CALIB/FLAT/r/flat/pfsFlat-2015-12-01-0-1r.fits applied. The spectrum is a slightly tilted constant flux, using the partial LAM slit.

I think I'd be surprised if you see much, if anything. These detectors are pretty featureless. Pixel-to-pixel variations of a couple of percent is the best you'll get.

Oh, the reason the spectra stop so suddenly is that I cannot extrapolate past the bluest and reddest spots from the optical model. So I can't get out to the vignetted area. But now that we have measurements of the blue dichroic response I can at least apply that, and know how far the model spots need to go. Hmm, new issue I guess.

Despite the comment above, this ticket is currently still marked as "open" (ie, unstarted). I spoke to aritter about this at our meeting of 2017-04-24. We agreed that in fact this is now ready for review — Andreas will check if the data provided meets his needs, and, if so, mark this ticket as reviewed.

cloomis, do you agree with that?
