I would have thought that the simulator should produce files outside of the butler, just as the real instrument or archiving system does. That way, we have to run the ingest scripts, just as we do with real data. |

I don't remember for sure, but I suspect that this ticket was supposed to read inputs (e.g. pfsSimObjects, pfsDesign) using standard tools. I agree that the outputs should go to a directory where they can be ingested normally; I am agnostic as to the best way to do the I/O.

I think we've agreed that not using the butler in the simulator is good. |
