| Description |
|
As explained in PFS-drp:00454 (https://pfspipe.ipmu.jp/pipermail/reduction/2019/000467.html ) the image rendered by a given fiber is a function of the PSF of the incident light. This needs to be modeled by the simulator, using an input PSF for a point source, which could possibly apply also to galaxies. This modeling will help to determine improvements to the 2DDRP extraction kernel - ie., {{FiberTrace}, which presently assumes a uniform fiber illumination. |
