Comment by Didier Vibert on 2021-12-17 13:58:52: up to now, amazed does not handle non-gaussian LSF profile. It can be implemented, at least to test the eventual redshift estimation performance gain of using a more realistic LSF and thus line profile. The drawback will be a much longer processing time, since each line profile at each tested redshift will have to be constructed by convolving the LSF profile by a Gaussian to take into account the intrinsic velocity dispersion of the line. |
