 Description

The purpose of this ticket is to create a function that takes in as inputs FRDs and Cobra positioner theta, phi positions as inputs, outputting an angular misalignment and uncertainty on angular misalignment to be used in PSF modeling. This function will be well commented regarding inputs, process, and outputs as well as pass errors/warnings if data does not match expected format. This is planned to take 2 weeks, from March 8-March 22nd. This code is to be uploaded to my Github afterward for use in the project.

Old description:

I have developed an FRD/angular misalignment routine to determine how angular misalignment was introduced in images depending on the Cobra fiber position's angular misalignment. This has been tested on pupil images for a test fiber and could reproduce the angular distribution (extracted from sig_tot analysis) observed with 3 angular misalignments and an initial theta and phi position. It is worth investigating whether this is would be a productive analysis to do on the telescope.

FRD_Routine_Test.png is a graph displaying angular misalignment as extracted from the images from the Cobra-mounted fiber is displayed with error bars around each data point, while the effective model is shown in solid lines for each of three positioning of the phi motor. Y-axis shows angular misalignment in mrad, while X-axis is in steps of 60 degrees (plot will be updated).

Current work on this ticket is available at my Github https://github.com/bbelland/AngularExtraction I'm modifying some of my previous code that modeled angular misalignment as a function of Cobra position using the angular misalignments extracted from the fiber images. Here I will be assuming that we will not infer angles from FRD data directly from the PSF, which complicates the extraction but the problem should be tractable.
