 Description

We expect Argon data to be available later this week (probably around or after June 3, taken by cloomis ). This ticket is to check the quality of this data and see if our explanation from PIPE2D-439, PIPE2D-284, and other related tickets is correct.

The Argon data is looking good.

The broad lines that are seen in PIPE2D-284, PIPE2D-417, PIPE2D-439, PIPE2D-446 are narrower in Argon, as expected. This means that our explanation that broad lines are due to resonant broadening that is only seen in HgAr lamp due to different pressure (because it is not a pure noble gas lamp, has to accommodate mercury as well) is likely correct.
