 Description

The HgAr lamp has a characteristic continuum. This needs to be modeled, based on data provided by LAM.

This modeling, that is part of the arc subtraction activity, helps to develop the sky continuum modeling need for the full sky subtraction algorithm.

The modeling can be done in 1D space, such that the continuum can be multiplied by the orthogonal fiber trace data to form a 2D image that can be subsequently used for arc subtraction.

Data from LAM needs to be procured in order for Keigo to start this work.

As I was just saying to Keigo, I think that he could, at least partially, benefit from the work that price did on this once, when implementing reduceExposure.doSubtractContinuum=True config parameter to the pipeline.

I checked current modeling with spline interpolation as shown above. It looks good, but is the scope of this ticket to improve the current continuum modeling with spline method?

I think the FitContinuumTask has satisfied this ticket.
