 Description

The following was surprising behavior for the m1 file:

ingestPfsCalibs.py /work/drp/ --calib /work/fmadec/calib-fmadec /work/drp/CALIB/BIAS/pfsBias-202*.fits --validity 1000

[ ... ]

lsst.ingestCalibs INFO: /work/drp/CALIB/BIAS/pfsBias-2022-11-15-081928-b3.fits --<move>--> /work/fmadec/calib-fmadec/BIAS/pfsBias-2022-11-15-081928-b3.fits
lsst.ingestCalibs INFO: /work/drp/CALIB/BIAS/pfsBias-2022-11-15-081928-m3.fits --<move>--> /work/fmadec/calib-fmadec/BIAS/pfsBias-2022-11-15-081928-r3.fits

[ Also, is --move really the right default? ]

This behaviour was added in the following commit:

commit 7a1b4a87719a82d419db229bbf1dc1413759f44c (HEAD, refs/bisect/bad)

    add ingestPfsCalibs.py to link r/m bias/dark/flat

    r and m share the same physical pixels, so bias/dark/flat can
    simply be duplicated. This requires overriding IngestCalibTask,
    which requires using the new ingestPfsCalibs.py instead of
    ingestCalibs.py

Fabrice ingested from a just-published CALIB/BIAS directory – if his ingest renamed m to r, how did the first CALIB get m files?

Comment by price [ 16/Nov/22 ]

Yes, this is a feature. For bias and dark (maybe not flat any more?), r and m are identical.

Please see Paul's comment - it's a feature.
