 Description

We need to figure out how to decide whether the DCB or the FPS generates the W_PFSDSGN key. Obviously when the PFI is not on the telescope it should be the DCB, but it is less clear what should be done when the PFI is on.

Actually, I am not sure I know how to tell (without human intervention) whether the PFI is mounted. PEB power? AGCC link? pfiLamps? Something from the telescope?

As stated, and for SM1, this was done in INSTRM-1366. The sps lightsource keywords declare where the light comes from, and that is used by the ccdActor to know which pfsDesign to use for W_PFSDGN

There are tickets for having a central source for an instrument-wide pfsDesign constructed from the component parts. Once that is done the ccdActor can drop all this logic.
