Two systems on the BEE require kernel modules: the gatevalve needs one from ics_xcu_rtdADIO, and the SAM needs one for the QuickUSB device. We need a sane system to build/keep/load modules for different kernel versions. Yes, one could install them as root. Or we could have a user-level tree, which is what I currently use, just not well. |

The QuickUSB kernel module will not run on newer kernels, so this does not apply, and also freezes the kernel for rtdADIO |
