I'm updating dcbActor with much longer warming time (used to be 15sec)

I'm also adding an optional force keyword to skip it if required.

just to complicate things further, will be be able to request custom warming up time?

no, but I can easily add this option.

Yes, please  - I think for some purposes one does not want full 15+ minutes, but e.g., 3 minutes -> where absolute precision is not necessary, but we want to be in the rough ballpark.

I'm now tracking how long each lamp has been powered on.
We could add this value to the fits header if it's useful.

we have two options:

  • add a new field
  • replace True/False statement by this value (0 would be off obviously)

but it might break something on your side, any though cloomis, ncaplar ?

I think the second option would certainly break DRP processing, so I vote for adding a new field.

Arnaud will add the additional cards for the warming time, complementing the lamp on/off cards
