 Description

While a series of 50 frames were taken in the MCS engineering run, pin-hole mask spot on MCS image occasionally looked to shift by ~50 pixels in X-axis and went back to the previous position .
Example: visit 6878

The image in problem has bad pixels at the left-bottom corner (see the following link), which may make read-out incorrectly.

The "inserted" pixels looked diagnostic. Looking for high noise in the first 100 pixels coughed up four in ~7000 frames:

  • 1123 on 10/24 – has double spots: some reads in stack are ok.
  • 2476 on 10/24 – double spots
  • 5704 on 10/25
  • 6768 on 10/26

The bottom corners are shown in https://sumire.pbworks.com/w/file/129779655/INSTRM-561_glitches.png

With good centroiding, can simply count peaks.

This issue can be solved by add a sanity check. Simply calculating standard deviation of first 100 pixels and then compare with the standard deviation of whole image. See following link.

Waiting to be tested in the coming e-run
