On the first night of MCS engineering observation, the MCS computer suspended during rebooting proceed. We found IDRAC drops the connection when trying to connect with MCS computer with virtual console of IDRAC. This should be fixed for future maintenance. |

Newer iDRACs seem to have a HTML5 virtual console, including iDRAC 8 on the MCS computer. |

We set up VNC, which is also available. The downside is that it seems to be sensitive to clients – TigerVNC on Macs works, but various others didn't. |

I found a better solution with RealVNC + SSH Tunneling. By using the following procedures, I am able to connect to Virtual Console.
% ssh -L 5902:133.40.164.211:5902 gw-ics 2. Connect to locahost:5902 using RealVNC. 3. Revise the setting of RealVNC. Uncheck the following two box and re-connect again. |

We have tested this solution at summit during the MCS engineering work. It is proved that this method works perfectly. |
