 Description

We are setting shell-ics up as a shared development host. Various packages need to be installed, etc. This is the ticket to track that. Some parts will go into ansible files, and I'll annotate this ticket listing the changes. We need to merge at the end of MCS commissioning.

LDAP and auto.home were set up by CDM. [Not sure why there are both static \{{/etc/fstab}} and \{{/etc/auto.home}} configurations, or why the \{{/etc/fstab}} version enumerates the individual mountpoints -- which is desired?]

As for all VMs, added two global mount points:

  • rga1-vm:/operdata/software /software
  • rga1-vm:/proddata /data

apt packages:

  • gcc (gets us 6.3,  which is fine)
  • emacs
  • cmake (and thus make)

{{ vsftpd }} was also set up on shell-ics, but should probably be moved onto another host.
