The STSradio client program (which feeds instrument data to the STS server) is a standalone program which reads files. We need to either split out the network encoding protocol or to re-implement it. Can Subaru do this? |

Yoshida-san has access to a python STS client library. This may be sufficient; I will look at it. |

The python STS client will serve our purposes. Well, it will need to be be wrapped and optimized, but it is functionally complete. |

We are currently successfully using this library. But due to licensing issues we cannot put it in a public repo. An alternative is being considered for proper Subaru support; I expect we will switch when that becomes available. The interface is very similar, and the alertsActor will not be affected. Hiroshige Yoshida (DISABLED, Use LDAP account) is tracking this. |

I switched to the new STSpy module, which is temporarily in the still-unpublished ics_alertsActor. Once it gets published to the naojsoft github we can add that as a submodule and close this. Functionally this is done. |

Yoshida, Hiroshige Bump: is your STS module in an naoj repo yet, or should I continue keeping a PFS copy? |
