 Description

we almost agreed to:

  • name hostname as <feature>-<subsystem> like bee-b1
  • use canonical acronyms for subsystem, like sm1/ics/infra/pfi/mcs, except for [brn][1-4] of xCU
  • have one (or two?) digit numerical character at the last in <feature> or <subsystem> for identical multiple instances, like b1/b2/b3/b4

need to be documented in ics_doc.

added draft (w/PR) following the first comment.

  • may need to consider having multiple sequence numbers for VM hosts, which have multiple network interfaces (also for management) - like xxxy-vm and xxxyz-vm, xxx = model, y = seq id (1-), z = additional if name (a-)
  • may need to allow non-keyworded subsystem name, for site specific hosts (like AIT operation console)

How do you plan to name the guide cameras?

Comment by shimono [ 07/Dec/17 ]

AGCC (AG camera controller) is a part of PFI. cameras themselves are connected via USB (PCIe bus extender) from PFI to CB2F.
