 Description

This was raised during the ICS/PFI telecon 2022-08-05.
Please provide a mechanism for grouping visits, for example those comprising a raster, such as those taken during the June 2022 Engineering Run.

The use of visit_set in the opDB seems an obvious candidate for this, but it appears that to use this may require a schema update.

after discussions with cloomis, that boils down to two things:

  • add a command to declare a new group/iic_sequence which will return a visit_set_id
  • add an optional visit_set_id argument to iic commands and use the provided one instead of getting a new id for each iic command.
not sure what to do with iic_sequence_status in that case yet.

As mentioned during the ICS/PFI telecon 2022-09-02, no schema update is required.

Arnaud reports during the commissioning telecon and the ICS/PFI telecon 2022-09-16 that a small schema change is needed after all.
