The default tablespace location for postgres on linux is very very bad: /var/lib. Creating a new partition/filesystem dedicated to a database tablespace is essentially always the right thing to do. If you do so, the default table space for new tables can be set to that and the table space of existing tables can be changed. For changing existing tables, that can take a long time. The reply_raw, etc tables are awful. |
