When the centroid routine detects too many spots, exit before fitting centroids and raise an error. |

For cases when the threshold is too low and the centroiding fails by detecting 250K sources, exit the calculation after the detection of candidate spots to prevent the system from hanging, and only write the first 5000 spots to the database, for diagnostic purposes.
