 Description

A number of James E Gunn's technical notes do not have document ids and need to be registered. Please arrange for his papers listed under:

https://sumire.pbworks.com/w/page/50564037/PFS%20technical%20studies%20and%20white%20papers

to be added.

yuki.moritani: I've added an initial draft of the Princeton documents.csv under on GitHub:

https://github.com/Subaru-PFS/doc/blob/tickets/INFRA-219/registries/princeton/documents.csv

These include new document IDs for the subset of Jim's documents that you provided me. Note that I have not yet provided URLs, as formally, the filenames for each document needs to include those document IDs, so, formally, I need to create new copies of each of Jim's files, with the new names.

Shall I proceed with that, or shall we keep the existing document names, and I simply update the Princeton registry to put to the URLs of those existing documents?

Thank you for your work on this.

Well ... I personally think you can proceed, considering the following points.

  • The link to the file on PBworks won't be broken by changing the name.
  • The original fie name will be kept by just adding the code, so that one can search the documents with original name

But since many people use the white papers, it will be kind to announce before you modify the name for other people to prepare.

By the way, I'm afraid some documents seem to have different category from the contents.
If you don't bother, may I comment on them (via PR)?

Hi yuki.moritani

Thanks. I'll raise the PR shortly so you can comment on the document categories.

Regarding your first point: I suspect that there is a PBworks action that allows one to rename files from the PBworks web interface. I cannot see such an action for me - the only available action I have for files is to be able to 'Download'.

Do I have limited privileges? If so, you or another PFS team member may need to do the file renaming.

I've got your PR ... thank you. I'll put my comments later this week.

Let's see... you are "writer" for PBworks, and renaming the file is disabled to you, according to the manual.

Well ... then I will rename them, if needed.

I will make a request to have 'editor' privileges, but in the meantime, unfortunately, you may have to rename the files.

Ok, shimono has kindly granted me editor privileges for PBworks/sumire.

Brilliant! So please wait for a while.

Pull request merged. Outstanding work: rename document files as per the updated document.csv file.

Doc codes added, but URLs still outstanding. Will do that in a separate ticket.
