While understanding the FRD from out-of-focus images at varying fiber configurations (PIPE2D-628) and extracting changes in FRD from a base image (PIPE2D-627) would allow for FRD extraction, the longer-term effects of hysteresis are not yet well understood on FRD for Cobras. The purpose of this ticket is to quantify how much FRD can vary to hysteresis in fiber positioning, and more specifically, how much out-of-focus calibration is required for FRD extraction.
Some of this work may require data from the instrument, but consideration into how much hysteresis could be tolerated can be considered now.
