Start the ASIC in no-reset mode

    XMLWordPrintable

    Details

      Description

Both the Teledyne and Loose ASIC firmwares start the ASIC in reset-when-idle mode. This is before there has been any chance to configure the voltages. In many case this will flood the detector with flux which takes a while to burn off, if only because of their persistence.

A small change to the image would start it in do-nothing-while-idle mode, at which point we can set the bias voltages then start the reset-while-idle loop.

We already have a ticket to stop the reset-while-idle loop when preparing to power the ASIC down. We should do both.
